Welcome To February! Exploring the Month Through the Tarot
Share
The Month of February is all about how to utilize the energy of space! As we exit January and enter Aquarius season, we exit the energy of gravity and all that holds us grounded but also limited. The nature of February's energy encourages us to explore the possibilities of what we can accomplish and more importantly, a mental framework of where the new year will take us.
It is important to remain grounded while aiming high and practicing an optimistic approach. Be sure to practice mindfulness around your approach to what is known right now and what is unknown, being sure not to control either. February is an amazing month to incorporate renovation and electrifying energy into your life.
Since we are in the sign of Aquarius for the majority of February, you might experience symptoms of being a stubborn Fixed sign! Determination runs strong in Fixed signs and it can be incredibly difficult to change directions as a Fixed sign. Utilize the energy of creativity and being your unique self. Aquarius individuals are known for being Independent and Open-Minded, sometimes even unpredictable.
Your ideas in the Month of February may come across and unrealistic or unconventional, but that is the energy of Aquarius.
The first third of the month, roughly 9 days, will be represented by The Fool card and The Star.
The Fool card talks all about being disoriented and surrounded by the unknown. Essentially, you are meant to make friends with the mystery of what the year holds for you. You cannot clench tight onto all factors of life and still remain in your comfort zone. The Fool card this month reminds us to explore life without being worried about GPS or what people think. This card reminds us to bring presence to absence. What areas of life or the future are you afraid to explore? Why? Now is the time to release rigidity and let go of your need for answers. The Fool card is important because it reminds us that anything can fall apart beneath you at any moment. But the beauty is that you do not need to be so worried about it. Life is full of surprises and so is the new year, so try not to think about the past or future too much and remain in the present. By not knowing every detail of the future, we leave tons of space for a world of opportunity.
The Star card cleanses and heals our energy before the rest of the world rises in the morning. The Star is Essential Restoration. This card represents cleansing oneself from all the accumulated beliefs and burdens of our lives. It is important to remember that The Star isn't always relaxing. Sometimes, The Star can represent needing to excavate deep into one's shadows in order to heal and that certainly is not easy. The Star is about enduring fleeting discomfort in order to restore healing. After all, The Star is preceded by The Tower in the Major Arcana--utter upheaval. This week is important for identifying your soft spots that need attention. If you are missing a past version of yourself, hold close to it once again and identify a potential source of this pain point.
The Second Third of the Month isn't nearly as complex and is represented by the Five, Six, and Seven of Swords.
Essentially, we are called to approach this week with experimentation on our triggers. With the Five of Swords, we are suggested to commune with the small triggers throughout life and to reflect on what provokes reactions out of us. In your reflection, you can take the space to reflect and decide how to engage with the trigger.
The Six of Swords represents allowing life to serve it's renewable energy without friction. The Six this February symbolizes the need to allow circulation of possibilities and reframing ways of thought. Open your perspective at this time and allow flexibility in changes.
The Seven of Swords symbolizes evolving your relationship with distraction. At this time, it is tempting to allow yourself to take note of attention-grabbers but it is vital to allow stillness to emerge. This week is about taking a pause so your true focus can come in.
We have finally made it to the end of February! The last week or so is represented by the King of Swords. The King of Swords encourages us to watch the weather from a neutral perspective. As you wrap up your month, reflect on what this archetype means to you. The King of Swords has much control over one's mind and has a clear direction. As an air sign, the King of Swords gives us the power of being a neutral witness where we can allow things to happen through us instead of to us. With the King of Swords, we take control of how we respond and how we show up to our relationships, responsibilities, and daily lives. In this energy, we can choose to show up to situations with patience and wisdom, and not to cause destruction with what we say. Now is a great time to observe your emotional state. Choose how to respond to situations with how they make you feel. Do they make you feel cold or hot? Maybe there is a better description for what you are feeling? Life can always bring storms, but you can move to the rhythm and embrace the stillness when relaxation is possible. This week is the time to enjoy the clarity and stillness of the year.

Some questions to ask oneself this month can include:
"What is my relationship to mystery?"
"What is currently stuck in my life, and what doesn't want to remain?"
"What am I gripping onto, and where does it really want to go?"
"How can I respond to the unknown better?"
"What has accumulated in me that needs to be released?"
"What makes me feel renewed?"
"What holes need to be made? What hurts need to be healed?"
"Who is my original self, and what does it need right now?"
"What situations, beliefs, and relationships repeatedly set me off? How can I respond with better purpose?"
"Which viewpoints might benefit from a new context?"
"What feels noisy in my life right now?"
